Speaker Fecteau Directs House Ethics Committee to Investigate Representative Randall Hall
AUGUSTA – Speaker of the House Ryan D. Fecteau (D-Biddeford) today directed the House Ethics Committee to investigate the conduct of Representative Randall Hall (R-Wilton).
Last week, Speaker Fecteau renewed his call for Rep. Hall’s resignation. In 2025, Rep. Hall was indicted on charges of aggravated forgery and violating Maine’s Clean Elections law. Last week, Representative Hall pleaded guilty to unsworn falsification and criminal violation of the Clean Election law.
“I called on Representative Hall to resign because he has betrayed the public trust and admitted to wrongdoing,” said Speaker Fecteau. “He has chosen not to do so, further eroding the trust of his constituents and all Maine people. Therefore, I have referred this matter to the House Ethics Committee and authorized them to meet to begin their work in earnest. Once the committee has completed its deliberations, I will convene the House for the sole purpose of considering their recommendation on this matter.”
“I have received the Speaker’s authorization to convene the Ethics Committee to investigate potential ethics violations by Representative Randall C. Hall,” said Representative Adam Lee (D-Auburn). “As Chair of the committee, I will ensure we fulfill our responsibility to uphold the Legislative Code of Ethics as we carry out the Speaker’s request.”
