Speaker Fecteau Applauds Second-Session Bills To Increase Affordability for Maine People

AUGUSTA - House Speaker Ryan D. Fecteau (D-Biddeford) today issued the following statement applauding the Legislative Council’s votes to introduce a suite of bills to increase affordability for Maine people:

“Legislative Democrats are laser focused on doing all we can here in Maine to protect people from the cruel policies out of Washington. From ensuring that Maine children and needy families can access food support to reining in electricity costs for Maine people, municipalities, and counties, the bills that will be introduced in the second session are true emergencies. Reckless cuts from Washington are having real impacts on Maine people– pinching household budgets so families are forced to choose between putting gas in the car and paying the light bill or the mortgage. That’s just not right.”
